29TH April 2026. Water Edge Garden was the venue of a dunner-reception organised by Alif Society,in honour of Hon Shakeel Mohamed, Jean Claude de l'Estrac, Dr Sunil Guness and Michael Glover, all decorated by the Republic on 12 March 2026.                           Friends of Alif Society met at Uzbekistan Restaurant in Grand Bay to celebrate Eid ul Adha. They were the guests of Bek, the owner of the Restaurant. Bek gave them a treat of Uzbek cuisine.

                        On Tuesday 9 June, the Pakistani in Mauritius and Mrs Syed paid a courtesy call on Alif Society. Alif welcomed the Pakistani couple over a dinner at Uzbekistan restaurant in Grand Bay. The evening was an opportunity of cordial exchanges.
