Ladies and Gentlemen,
Thank you for so generously accepting our invitation.
First thing first: Let us give a round of applause to Sir Aneerood for defending our cause so brilliantly at Den Hagen. SAJ still has his verve of QC when he was practicing. I hope the judges are convinced as the majority of the world that Mauritius needs complete independence. I would like to acknowledge 3 guests of Alif Society from UK.
a. Gabriel Sanchez, holder of triple degrees from Manchester and London and who has done extensive research on oral hygiene and neuro-degeneration and who has appreciably proved that Parkinson, Alzheimer and Autism are reversible.
b. Dr. John Roberts, a pioneer on alternative Dentistry who trots the globe spreading his expertise of how to rid the world of toxic metals, especially mercury and lead.
c. Daniel Peter, a German living in London, a film maker and writer who wants to capture on images the positive changes on patients of Autism and Parkinson and to broadcast to the world that PAAMS is NOT a terminal disease.
This visit has been made possible not because ALIF is a rich Society but because Do-Gooders like Piere Ah Sue is behind Alif Society. Thank you, Pierre.
I’ll the floor to SAJ for his intervention.
Thank you SAJ.
This evening we are welcoming H. E. DR. SYED RIZWAN AHMED, the new H.C of new Pakistan. Excellency, your country is among the first nations that established a diplomatic mission in our island, perhaps because of the fact that we have common origins, a shared language and a shared religion. Our relationship has been growing in strength without bumps. Your Universities have formed some of the best Mauritian brains and the goods we import from you are of world standard.
In my introduction, I mentioned new Pakistan, which at this historical juncture, is of paramount importance. You have, after several trials and errors, finally elected a new generation of Pakistanis at the helm of your country. The Head is a well-known sports figure and his dream team comprises some of the best formed managers of Red Bricks and IVY League Universities.
The signals Imran Khan has been sending is a breath of fresh air in the torrid heat of the subcontinent. He has invited his Indian Cricketer friend for his inauguration, exchanged friendly telephone conversation with his Indian counterpart and has just this week lifted all objections for Indian Diplomats to be admitted to the Lahore Club.
Are we watching History in the making? I would like to believe so. If North and South Korea, embroiled in decades long existential survival, have shed all inferiority complexes and are looking each other eyeballs to eyeballs with dignity and humility with the goal of building a pacific co-existence, why can’t the two Asian twins do so? Why can’t they give up the seven decades of destructive behavior, engaging themselves in three wars, vilifying each other, for the benefit of their two peoples. Why can’t they realise that the slums of Karachi and of Mumbai are alike? The silver lining is that India and Pakistan seem to have realized that their enemies are corruption, famine, diseases and illiteracy? Imran Khan is well-inspired and Modi is responding in like. Let’s pray that this is not surreal.
Your country is tackling the problem of corruption in a professional manner. Soon, we’ll see your prisons peopled by those Tenderpreneurs who were abusing the authority vested in them and sending clients to nick.
We look with admiration your country’s stand vis a vis your believed to be all weather friend, the USA which claims the divine right to be the world’s policeman, the judge, jury, and executioner. The world, especially, Pakistan, had to abide by the judgment “Rome has spoken; the matter is finished”. We are glad that Pakistan has withdrawn itself from the competition to be the World Doormat Cup of the USA. Pakistan is recuperating its pride as a nation. You have started paying a price but Imran Khan has realized that it is better to lose the saddle than the horse. There is no respect in riding a horse whose reins are not in your hands. Providence seems to be on Pakistan’s side this time.
Konrad Adenaur has said that: History is the sum total of things that could have been avoided. Let posterity discover, through the enfolding of Pakistani foreign relations, that Adenaur was right after all.
Long live Pakistan-Mauritius friendship.
We have also a small gift for our visitor to mark this occasion and I would request Lady Jugnauth to hand over the present to our guest.
