AWQAF SOUTH AFRICA ORGANISED AN INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE IN ISLAMIA COLLEGE, CAPE TOWN ON THE MUSLIM SETTLEMENT IN SOUTHERN AFRICA 17-19 SEPTEMBER 2022
The conference saw the top Historians speaking on themes like:
a. Islam in South African Townships and Rural Areas: A Phenomenological Approach
b. Black Muslims Women’s Presence in Religions and Educational matters in South Africa.
c. Towards understanding the rise of Afro-Muslim culture in South Africa .
d. A Socio-cultural Profile of the Muslim Community in Malawi
e. Botswana Muslims – Their Nation-Building and Humanitarian Contributions since Independence (1966).
The conference allowed networking. As a result, Alif was able to establish a firm relationship with AWQAF, South Africa and set to organise an International Conference jointly in Mauritius in 2023.
